Images leaked for behind closed door dealer, convention provide an excellent view of all-new Moto Guzzi 1400cc California Cruiser. In 2011, the company unveiled a poorly kit, single image of prototype California cruiser with 1400cc powerplant. Now it reveals plenty of details of production version of its Cruiser with leaked images from raft of design drawings and dealer convention. With extensive plastic covers and poor lighting on prototype in 2011, much speculation arose over whether or not the powerplant was water cooled. However, it seems to be utilizing extensive oil cooling instead of conventional water cooling. The huge radiator at front is quite larger as compared to average oil cooler, but quite small for 1400cc purely water cooled engine.

The wide-ranging cooling fins on heads, crankcases and cylinders are further evidence, which despite its 21st century design; it has not bowed to the pressure for becoming a completely water cooled. By utilizing large oil cooler, the California Cruiser should be able to get superior control over its powerplant’s temperature, something, which is a key to meeting emissions regulations without compromising too much power. Steady powertrain temperatures enable tighter tolerances on internal machinery, enabling higher state of tune and enhancing efficiency.
