The chassis of 1199 Panigale marks an enormous innovation with different components incorporated for giving shape to single lightweight and compact element, which enhances rider’s posture to perfect the riding position. The monocoque structure in cast aluminium for increased strength uses Superquadro engine as structural element and aids in reducing the motorcycle’s total weight by 5kg. The frame is fixed directly to cylinder head, and at front there are two aluminium bushings inserted with steering tube bearings.

The Ducati Traction Control (DTC) of 1199 Panigale monitors control of slipping of the rear tire and operates on basis of 8 different levels of interaction, each of which has been programmed for responding to different tolerance to rear slipping. Each Riding Mode is assigned pre-set level of activation. The Level 8 indicates activation of system at detection of slightest slipping, while Level 1 is reserved for very expert riders and has higher tolerance.

Specifically designed for sport use, the Panigale’s ABS 9ME offers 3 levels of operation, each associated with Riding Mode; in RACE mode, this system works only on front discs to guarantee top performance during track use. The DQS (Ducati Quick Shift) is an electronic system, which manages transmission and is used in competitions. It enables gear to be engaged on acceleration without the use of clutch, while maintaining throttle open.
