Alpha Sports Motorcycles – Korean made competes with JapaneseAlpha Sports | December 21, 2010
Alpha Sports Gv 250 is a 250 cc crusier manufactured by Hyosung motors. The entry level cruiser was popular in 2003 and it shared the entry level cruiser segment with Yamaha Virago, Kymco Venox, Honda Rebel and the Suzuki GZ 250.
Alpha Sport Motorcycles brought their Gv250 with right package to compete with big names like the Honda, Yamaha and the Suzuki. Many of the motorcycles tempted to get in this segment as these entry Alpha Sports Motorcycles were low, light and easily maneuverable. These bikes weren’t much stylish but were extreme safe on the road. With 250 cc on the displacement the cruiser wasn’t fast but gave a comfy ride for long rides.
Alpha Sports motorcycles weren’t made in Japan; it’s made in South Korea. Hyosung Motors has been building these bikes for European ansd the Asian market; in 2003 they introduced the Gv 250 for Americans. Soon when it was introduced the Alpha Sports Gv 250 received many praises, the motorcycle got its commitment even from Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
GV cruiser receives a Korea made 249cc engine, twin cylinders that are splayed 75 degrees. With the styling, even the design wasn’t retro. Each of the cylinders has four valves and two Mikuni carbs for mixing duties. Combustion chambers were beefy, exited on right side. The seating positions were comfortable and were large enough to allow saddle moments. Between the legs is a 3.7 gallon fuel tank that gives a range of approx 200 miles. The cruiser features same styling like of a Sport Star with forward placed foot pegs and wide handle bar.
With twin cylinders on the engine could reach 60 mph at ease and unlike the Japanese makes the Gv 250 was comfortable even for 6 feet+.
It’s not much to praise about the cruiser, but its goodness ever where and has standards to compete with Japanese.
