2012 Suzuki Hayabusa – Most Powerful Production Sportsbike Available Today
Suzuki | February 1, 2012Introduction
2012 Suzuki Hayabusa quite simply is not the motorcycle for everyone. With performance credentials, which have founded it as one of the most exciting motorcycles on Earth, it is designed and engineered for serious sport enthusiasts, who will settle for nothing less than best. It is a combination of superb aerodynamics, unsurpassed power and crisp handling, which makes it an ultimate sportsbike. For 2012 year, it is offered with new colors and graphics such as Pearl Glacier white and Glass Sparkle Black. It’s superiority over everything else that makes it a pinnacle of all sportsbikes combining stylish bodywork with unparalleled performance.
There are the very motorcycles in the market, which can go stride for stride with Hayabusa, particularly while you consider that it is propelled by inline four-cylinder 1,340cc, DOHC liquid cooled fuel injected, engine with TSCC (Twin Swirl Combustion Chambers) and sixteen-valves, offering uncompromising anger and staggering power over anything, which dares to cross its path. The engine of 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa is fed through Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve fuel injection system of Suzuki’s own with ram air intake with large volume airbox and fine-spray dual 12-hole injectors per cylinder. Similarly, the powerplant is teamed up with six-speed transmission, which gets oil spray to 4th, 5th, and 6th gears, reducing mechanical and wear noise whenever you take it out for spine tingling spin.
As far as the handling of 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa is concerned, it was engineered to be as tough as it is powerful. The rigid twin-spar aluminum and lightweight frame serves as the motorcycle’s chassis, minimizing overall weight while also maintaining high torsional strength. The completely adjustable inverted front fork gains Diamond Like Coating (DLC) coated inner tubes, while the front suspension provides minimal friction resistance, delivering exceptional suspension performance over variety of riding situations. You will also find a bridged aluminum alloy swingarm, which gets cross-sectional shape for increased rigidity while also increased engine output and enhancing rear tire grip.
Powerplant
Motivation for the 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa comes from an inline four-cylinder DOHC liquid cooled 1340cc fuel injected engine with Twin Swirl Combustion Chambers and 16-valves and is good for pulsating 197 horsepower at 9500 rpm with 155 newton meters of torque at 7200 rpm. Aluminum alloy lightweight pistons with 12.5:1 compression ratio are designed for maximum performance in all situations. Smooth, hard chrome nitride PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating on oil control rings and upper compression on each piston reduces friction while enhancing cylinder sealing. SCEM (Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material) cylinder plating enhances durability, ring seal and heat transfer.
Titanium lightweight valves allow use of light valve springs and high lift whereas maintaining precise valve control. The iridium spark plugs are used for high combustion efficiency. The powerplant of 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa is fed through Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system of Suzuki with ram air intake with large volume airbox and fine-spray dual 12-hole injectors per cylinder. Suzuki PAIR (Pulsed secondary AIR injection) system reduces carbon monoxide emissions and ignites unburned hydrocarbons. Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) enables the rider to select from 3 different engine settings depending on rider preferences or riding conditions. It comes standard with large volume 4-2-1-2 exhaust system with dual triangular canisters, closed loop system and huge capacity catalyzer. The curved high efficiency radiator gains dual electric fans controlled by ECM for increased cooling capacity.
Transmission
The engine of 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa is teamed up with six-speed optimized transmission that gets oil spray to fourth, fifth and sixth gears for reducing mechanical and wear noise while cruising on highways. SCAS (Suzuki Clutch Assist System) serves as back torque limiting system contributes to light clutch pull and for smooth downshifts.
Chassis
The rigid twin-spar and lightweight aluminum frame of 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa minimizes weight at the same time maintaining high torsional strength. The inverted front completely adjustable fork gains Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) coated inner tubes. The front suspension provides exceptional suspension performance and minimal friction resistance over array of riding situations. The aluminum alloy bridged swingarm comes with cross sectional shape for increased rigidity that helps cope with increased engine output and enhanced rear tire grip. The fully adjustable rear shock absorber of Hayabusa features 14mm rod diameter and 43mm piston.
The front brake radial mount calipers of 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa allows for smaller 310mm front brake rotors and offers maximum braking performance, resulting in enhanced handling and reduced unsprung weight. The single piston lightweight rear brake caliper works in combination with rear brake 260mm disc. Twin vertically stacked headlamps offer enhanced light distribution, match elegant flow of Hayabusa styling and increased light intensity. The instrument cluster of Hayabusa gets 4 analogue meters for tachometer, speedometer, water temperature and fuel gauge with gear position indicator, adjustable engine rpm indicator and S-DMS mode indicator.
